Bill Williams - retires after 47 years of service to Scouting



At the Horsham Weald Scout District AGM in June 2013 farewell was said to Bill Williams after a lifetime of service to Scouting.

Bill who has undertaken many roles in Scouting since he became an Assistant Scout Leader in 1962 with 3rd Carshalton Scout Group, Surrey and since 1972 in Horsham as ADC (Leader Training, Group Scout Leader – 1st St Leonards Forest, District Secretary, District Appointments Secretary and other supporting roles  has decided to retire from an active role in Scouting.

Bill’s long and distinguished service was recognised by the Chief Scout in 2006 with the award of the Bar to the Silver Acorn. At the  AGM Anthony Smith, District Chairman and former District Commissioner, congratulated Bill on his contribution to Scouting and thanked him for all that he had done for the Horsham Districts.
Bill was presented with a token of appreciation and he thanked all with whom he had worked over 47 years of service to Scouting.
