Horsham Weald Scout District Cross Country Cycle Race

Sunday 29th June saw the “Horsham Weald Scout Cross Country cycle race” return with a bang. Despite the downpours on Saturday while setting the weather improved on the day. There were around 60 participants on the start line coming from all age groups (Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers & Adults). All participants and spectators had a great time, supporting and encouraging each other throughout the day. Thanks and congratulations to everyone who took part, but particularly to all the finalists in each age group. A big thank you goes out to the following local businesses who supported the event, giving prizes and their time freely to ensure that it was a great success.

5th/10th Beaver Scouts - Community Week

Beavers from 5th/10th Horsham Weald Scout Group - Brooker Colony rolled up their sleeves and got stuck in to a wood clearance project to support a local pre-school.
The pre-school has recently started a Forest School where young children have the opportunity to learn more about the outdoors.

Scouts including Beavers get to know the outdoors very well but for some children getting their feet wet and hands muddy or getting so close to nature is not so common place.

The Beaver Colony worked hard to remove weeds to allow other plants in Forest School area to grow through.

Well done Beavers for a good day's work!

District Beaver Scout Easter Egg Hunt

Unfortunately, the annual Easter Egg Hunt had to be cancelled due to the extremely muddy ground and torrential rain, however we were able to go ahead with the Magician Show which was a great success with Beavers and adults alike!
