Future of Scouting in Horsham - County Commissioner's announcement

Following a meeting held on Monday 29th September 2014 the County Commissioner for West Sussex Scout has issued an announcement concerning the future of Scouting in Horsham.

From 1^st October 2014 I have asked Peter Scofield (District Commissioner, Horsham Weald) and his District Chairman Anthony Smith to oversee both Horsham West and Horsham Weald.

From the 28^th March 2015 the two Districts will join together to create one new District, to be known as Horsham & District Scout Council. I’m delighted that both Peter and Anthony have agreed to continue to lead the new District.

Tony Felgate will continue on the team as Peter’s deputy and I want to personally thank him for holding the fort as acting District Commissioner for Horsham West since June.

Any concerns or questions regarding the creation of the new District should be directed to horsham@westsussexscouts.org.uk and will be answered in due course.

Kandersteg 2015 - Orion & Paladin ESU winter trip

Horsham Weald Scout District Explorer Scout Units Orion and Paladin are joining together for a trip to Kandersteg International Scout Centre, Switzerland in 2015.

To raise funds for the trip there will be a Quiz Night on Saturday 18th October 2015 at 2nd Southwater Scout HQ.

World Scout Jamboree 2015 - fundraising

Horsham Weald Jamboree Contingent

Members of the Horsham Weald Scout District Jamboree contingent held another fundraisng event on Saturday 27th Sepetmber.
The bingo and auction was well attended by supporters and members of the contingent. More than £1000 was raised.

Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to make the event a success.

Horsham Scouts in Partnership with Simons Group - Newsletter #2

Horsham Scouts continue to work in partnership with the Simons Group.

Here is newsletter #2 giving more information about the work to develop the John Lewis store in Horsham.

Copies of the newsletter will be distributed by Scouts to homes adjacent to the works.

World Scout Jamboree - 2015 Fundraising

The Horsham Weald Jamboree 2015 contingent are holding a Bingo and Auction on Saturday 27th September at 5th/10th Scout HQ.

Tickets £10 including fish and chips supper.
