Jamboree 2015 Japan

Tony Tunnell Jamboree Contingent Leader writes;

With just 8 days to go before we fly out to Japan, interest in the unit is growing and there have been several articles in local papers and the radio.
Please let us know if you see any so we can share with others.

After 2 years of preparation, we are ready and we are really looking forward to the experience we are going to have whilst out in Japan.

If you would like to follow our journey, our “less restricted” Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/groups/westsussex2015/ will be where we post to from 23rd July to 11th August, so if you are not a member, please do request to join as soon as possible so you don’t miss out on any important updates.

If the participants are taking mobile phones, we are also asking them to post to this page so that everyone back in West Sussex has a more rounded view of what we are all getting up to.

We also have a twitter feed @Yewnity which you are welcome to follow if you use this social media instead.

We seem to have created a National Competition between units to see how quickly the unit can get into a group photo position – I think we currently hold the record at 12 seconds, but there are other units hot on our heels so we are going to have to practise more.

At our last meeting at Lodge Hill, all the young people wrote some quotes to be used by the HQ Media people. Here are just some of them…..

"It was Streamside where we started working as a team rather than just individuals” - Streamside was our second camp in July 2014
“It doesn’t matter if you’re talking about the preparation, the camping or the Young People; it’s all been awesome”
“I can’t wait to make new friends and connect with them online when I get back”
“I’m really excited for HoHo, learning about a new culture and seeing what they do"

May I thank you for all your support over the last two years. It has been such an exciting journey and we still have the big adventure to come.
