We are
delighted to announce that the West Sussex Scouts has entered an agreement with
the Think Family Project, coordinated by the West Sussex County Council and run
alongside the Sussex Partnership Foundation Trust, District Councils and Sussex
Police.
Our
Part to Play
The
Think Family Project aims to help vulnerable families change their lives for
the better. The best part for us however is that young people from these
families may now have the exciting opportunity to join Scouting in their local
community.
But how
does Scouting make a difference? West Sussex Scouts County Commissioner, Irene
Orford recently stated, “Scouting
helps change lives by equipping young people with practical skills and valuable
life experiences, so a partnership between us is a natural fit. By working
together we'll be able to provide Scouting adventures for some of the most in
need young people in West Sussex."
The
Next Steps
It is
extremely rewarding for us to get recognition from participating authorities on
the positive impact scouting has on many young people’s lives. We feel that
going forward with this agreement will only serve to spread this message
further.
Scouting can have a huge part to
play in the lives of children, young people and their families. Therefore we
are excited about the possibility of meeting more people within the community who
could be offered the chance to join in with all that scouting has to offer.
Horsham Scouts Need You!
We are
looking for an experienced individual to be our new contact for the Think Family
Scheme.
If you
are someone who cares about ensuring that every child and young person gets a
good start in life and can look forward to a brighter future why not get involved
with helping Horsham Scouts participate fully in the Think Family project or if
you know someone who would do a great job, please contact by e-mail;
